Factory Refurbished And Seller Refurbished Used Dell Products
05/05/2009
Generally speaking there are two types of refurbished computers and servers available in the market. They are off lease and factory refurbished. Factory refurbished are those items that were returned by some consumer who was not satisfied with the product. Such returned articles are reworked in the factory and made ready for sale all over again.
These are also the systems with used Dell PowerEdge Servers or any such used Dell articles. Distinct advantages of using such used computers and servers are that they come with reasonable warranty, guarantee from the original manufacturer, as well as premium prices. On the other hand the off lease refurbished items are repaired by the seller and not the manufacturer. They do come with the reliability, conditioning, options but not the warranties available with the factory refurbished articles. On the other hand they may be available at much less price as the seller may give hefty discounts.
A question often raised is that if the used Dell products are so reliable and come with the warranty why they are available. Critics thus tend to point out that the consumers prefer the new ones compared to the refurbished computers and servers as they feel there could be distinct differences of quality and performance between the two. It is however not a fact that used Dell products are not popular. They are as popular as the new products and many people are buying them to save their hard earned money.
